St. Gregory Palamas was a pre-eminent Archbishop of Thessaloniki in the 14th Century and on the Second Sunday of Lent we celebrate him in a "Second Triumph of Orthodoxy" as he was a champion and defender of the Hesychast monks and the millennia long tradition of the practice of the Jesus Prayer.
