Today's Gospel is taken from the Gospel of St. Luke (16:19-31) and it details a teaching of Jesus concerning wealth, love of neighbor, and generosity called the story of "The Rich Man and Lazarus." Today we also celebrate the 1st Bishop of Byzantium after the Apostle Andrew: St. Stachys.
