About The Event
Beloved in the Lord,
“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:33
This annual gathering provides a forum for the leadership of all our communities to deliberate on important matters for our Metropolis and engage in dialogue and fellowship to enrich our common ministry. The Assembly will begin promptly at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 24, and will conclude at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2020.
This year’s Assembly will focus on our Metropolis Family Wellness Ministry with the theme, Ministry from the Heart ~ Face to Face, Heart to Heart, featuring guest speaker George Papageorge, LMFT, Director of the Metropolis Family Wellness Ministry. His insightful and interactive presentations will focus on the importance of establishing Family Wellness Ministry in our parishes, and provide a valuable toolkit that delegates can take back to get started on this important work. Additional presentations will be offered by Dr. George Koulianos, MD, speaking on behalf of the Archdiocese Center for Family Care, and Mr. George Cantonis, the newly elected President of Hellenic College Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology. There will also be the annual review of the Metropolis finances, the presentation and approval of the 2020 Metropolis Budget, the election of members to the Metropolis Council, and the election of our Metropolis representatives to the Archdiocesan Council.
Online registration is now open and we are requesting full representation from each of our parishes which includes:
- The Parish Priest
- The President of the Parish Council, and in his or her absence the Vice President, or in his or her absence any member of the Parish Council designated by it; and
- Two members of the Parish elected by the Parish Assembly.
Please review the agenda and register online today. Your timely response is requested by Friday, February 7, 2020. Please plan your schedules accordingly and come with an open mind and an open heart, ready and willing to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and be a beacon of God’s love in your parishes.
Praying that the Lord will grant you His abundant blessings in the New Year and always, I remain, + G E R A S I M O S Metropolitan of San Francisco
