Terms of Service

Effective Date: July 13, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website operated by St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church (“the Church,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using this website, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the website.

Purpose of the Website

This website provides information about the Church, Orthodox Christian faith, worship services, clergy, ministries, events, publications, donations, stewardship, facilities, and related parish activities.

Website content is provided for general religious, educational, community, and informational purposes. It does not replace direct communication with Church clergy or staff.

Religious and Pastoral Information

Religious content provided through the website is general in nature and should not be treated as individualized pastoral, theological, medical, psychological, legal, financial, or other professional advice.

For personal spiritual or pastoral guidance, please contact the Church directly and speak with an appropriate member of the clergy.

Accuracy and Availability

We attempt to keep website information accurate and current. However, service times, event dates, clergy or ministry information, availability, fees, facility details, and other content may change without notice.

Website content may occasionally contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. You should confirm important information directly with the Church before making travel plans, attending an event, reserving a facility, making a payment, or relying on information presented on the website.

We may change, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of the website at any time without notice.

Forms and User Submissions

When submitting a form or communicating through the website, you agree to provide information that is accurate and that you are authorized to provide.

You may not submit content that:

  • Is false, misleading, fraudulent, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or unlawful
  • Violates another person’s privacy, intellectual property, or legal rights
  • Contains malicious software, automated spam, or harmful code
  • Attempts to disrupt the website or gain unauthorized access to any system
  • Promotes commercial services without prior authorization

Submitting a form does not create a confidential, fiduciary, pastoral, employment, rental, membership, or contractual relationship unless the Church separately confirms such a relationship in writing.

Donations, Stewardship, and Payments

The website may provide access to third-party services for donations, stewardship pledges, event registrations, facility payments, or other transactions.

You agree to provide accurate payment and billing information and confirm that you are authorized to use the selected payment method.

Unless otherwise stated for a specific transaction, donations are voluntary and are used to support the Church and its ministries. Requests to correct an accidental or duplicate transaction will be reviewed individually, subject to applicable law, Church policies, and the rules of the payment provider.

Event tickets, registrations, facility rentals, sponsorships, and other purchases may be subject to additional terms, deadlines, cancellation policies, agreements, or refund conditions presented at the time of the transaction.

The Church is not responsible for delays, errors, interruptions, or security incidents caused by an independent payment processor or other third-party provider.

Event and Facility Information

Submitting an event, registration, volunteer, or Panos Hall inquiry does not guarantee availability, acceptance, reservation, or approval.

A facility reservation or event booking is not confirmed until all required agreements, approvals, deposits, payments, and other conditions have been completed and expressly accepted by the Church or its authorized representative.

The Church may modify or cancel events, programs, services, or facility availability when reasonably necessary.

Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the website and its original content, including text, layout, graphics, photographs, videos, logos, documents, and design elements, are owned by or licensed to the Church and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may view, download, or print website materials for personal, noncommercial, educational, or parish-related use, provided that you do not remove copyright, attribution, or ownership notices.

You may not reproduce, republish, sell, commercially distribute, modify, scrape, or create derivative works from website content without prior written permission from the Church or the applicable rights holder.

Certain religious texts, icons, photographs, videos, publications, logos, and third-party materials may belong to other organizations, artists, authors, photographers, publishers, or rights holders. Their inclusion on the website does not transfer ownership or grant permission for unrestricted reuse.

Livestreams, Photos, and Media

The website may display or link to photographs, recordings, livestreams, sermons, services, and event media. These materials are provided for worship, education, parish communication, and community information.

You may not commercially rebroadcast, redistribute, edit, or reuse this media without permission from the Church and any other applicable rights holders.

Third-Party Links and Services

The website may link to or display services operated by third parties, including payment processors, maps, calendars, social media platforms, video platforms, event services, and Orthodox organizations.

Third-party services are governed by their own terms and policies. A link or reference does not necessarily constitute endorsement of every statement, product, service, or practice of the third party.

The Church is not responsible for the content, availability, security, accuracy, or practices of third-party websites and services.

You agree not to:

  • Use the website for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or deceptive purposes
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the website, server, accounts, forms, or connected systems

Disclaimer of Warranties

The website and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Church disclaims all express or implied warranties, including warranties of accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, security, and non-infringement.

Severability and Waiver

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.

A failure by the Church to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other right.
